The Investorville Gazette is a monthly investment newsletter that seeks to provide an unbiased view of investments and economic activity. It was first published in 1989 by Douglas Smith. Doug has spent over four decades studying the market. Over that time, he has developed long-term and short-term "vital signs" that aid in understanding the current condition of the market and where it is headed in the future. He believes that common strategies on Wall Street and the academic world can be hazardous to your wealth. He finds it beneficial to question the view of the majority and closely follow the economic and market cycle.

Doug has also found that income, value, and preservation are important parts of investing, and the opinion of the market (based on it's action) is more important than the opinions of other people or companies. This newsletter is intended to help you keep the emotions out of investment decisions. Investorville is written with a conservative, contrary viewpoint but occasionally offers ideas for more speculative investments.
